From the cow to the tank – green hydrogen from biogas

As part of the “Hydrogen Week”, we visited the family farm Lefkeshof in Krefeld Hüls, which is run by the fifth generation of the Schleupen family.

In a pilot project in cooperation with BtX energy GmbH, pioneering energy solutions in the field of green hydrogen production are being developed here for the first time in Germany. A biogas and reformer plant with a hydrogen filling station is used to produce green hydrogen from liquid manure and dung.

We ourselves have been active in the field of fuel cell and hydrogen applications since 2014 and develop innovative components for fuel cells based on our own coating technology together with research and industry partners. We have a need for hydrogen for test purposes and would like to obtain the required quantities from there in the future in order to be verifiably green in test operation as well. We can also work together more closely at a local level and boost the hydrogen ramp-up here on site. We hope that this first visit will result in good neighborly cooperation!
