Vocational school lessons at the Kauffmannsschule Krefeld (training as an industrial clerk) comprise a total of 5 blocks, each 5-6 weeks long, over a training period of 2.5 years. During this time, you learn a lot of things that you can also apply in the company.
The relevant content is taught using workbooks with real-life situations. This approach is very useful for understanding. The content is then tested in 3-4 exams per block. Tests are written in the remaining subjects. Even in subjects that are not relevant to the final exams, useful things are taught for everyday working life.
You always receive a certificate after two blocks. This certificate is made up of the performance of the two blocks per school year. In the last (5th) block, the grades from the penultimate (4th) block are included in the grading.
My summary: On the whole, the school is very manageable if you take 30-60 minutes at home after school to revise the material you haven’t understood. It is also helpful to exchange ideas and ask fellow trainees for help if necessary.
Thanks for the report Fabian!
