Antistatic Films

Antistatic PET films are gaining greater significance across various applications. These films not only help in minimizing contamination from static charges but also play a crucial role in preventing static discharges in explosion-proof manufacturing processes. Additionally, they mitigate unwanted static effects in end-use applications. Our newly formulated antistatic coating is available on PET films in a range of thicknesses and colors.

Aluminum-Metallized PET Film

We also provide specialized siliconized PET films, which feature an aluminum vapor coating applied on one or both sides prior to siliconization. This aluminum layer serves as an effective barrier against light, air, and moisture while also inhibiting electrostatic charging. This product is offered in a MED version suitable for medical and pharmaceutical uses, as well as a non-MED version for technical applications.

Laser-Markable Liners

Silicone serves as a release layer with very low surface energy, making it incompatible with inkjet printing systems. To address this, Laufenberg has introduced a “laser-markable release liner.” With this unique release coating, the use of a UV laser (355 nm) enables clear and tamper-evident markings while maintaining the original release properties. This product is available on both paper and film-based release liners.

Super Smooth

Our super-smooth PET film achieves a level of smoothness comparable to solvent-based competitor products, but it is free from organic solvents. Its exceptional smoothness lends a slippery quality to the film, effectively eliminating the “dull” surface typically found in standard solvent-free silicone coatings.

Stripe Coating

In certain scenarios, a fully silicone-coated release liner is not appropriate. For these applications, we offer a unique “stripe” silicone coating featuring alternating silicone-coated and non-silicone-coated sections.

Shrinkable Films

This innovative product merges heat-shrinkable film with the traditional release properties of a release liner. The material is designed to shrink in the machine direction while providing excellent machinability. Typical applications include packaging/thermoforming processes and insulation solutions in the electronics domain.

Water-Soluble Papers

Certain applications, such as hygiene products, demand exceptional water solubility. To meet this requirement, we have developed a liner that effectively combines high water solubility with desired release properties.

Premium Release for Butyls

Butyls and similar compounds can create a “stop-and-go effect” on silicone coatings, particularly evident as a high force peak during initial delamination. This can disrupt the smooth, even removal of the butyl compound. We have engineered a specific coating on PET and PP/E films tailored for butyl applications. This siliconization facilitates smooth and consistent removal with low release forces when used with most butyls.

Release Coatings for Silicone PSAs

To cater to this specific application area, our product range also includes release coatings compatible with silicone PSAs. This includes both fluorosilicone-based solutions and fluorine-free alternatives.

High-Speed Release Systems

Even at rapid delamination speeds, the peel force remains consistently low. This helps avoid adhesive reorientation in differentially siliconized liners, even during high-speed processes.
