Supercalendered paper, also known as glassine, has the highest degree of compaction and offers an optimum surface for an even silicone layer. In addition to good coatability and a low thickness tolerance, Glassine paper is characterized by good punchability. Due to the low absorption behavior, very even and thin silicone layers can be applied. Glassine offers a clear advantage over other carriers, especially for double-sided coated papers within narrow release value differentiation.
